New Funding Available for Companies Adopting Digital Technology
As part of the federal government's strategy to improve Canada's digital economy, The Digital Technology Adoption Pilot Program (DTAPP) has been introduced to speed up the rate at which small and mid-sized enterprises adopt digital technology and build digital skills. Available from October 2011 to March 31, 2014, DTAPP is expected to provide advisory services and funding to over 630 small and medium-sized enterprises.
Through DTAPP, qualified companies will receive advice, and possibly funding, to adopt digital technologies into their processes to improve productivity. As a result, these companies will be in a better position to innovate, cut costs, create jobs, improve the efficiency of their supply chain and boost their overall productivity.
To be considered for DTAPP eligibility, companies from any business sector must:
- have 500 employees or less;
- be incorporated, for-profit and operate in Canada;
- be growth-oriented;
- demonstrate plans to carry out a project designed to adopt digital technologies; and
- be willing to change their current operations to maximize the benefit of adopting digital technologies on their productivity.
DTAPP is delivered by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP). For more information, please visit www.nrc.gc.ca/irap/dtapp or call 1-855-453-3940.
