Senior Tax Accountant

Your qualifications must include:

A professional accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA or CPA)

Minimum of 3 years' work experience in public practice in a full-time tax planning role with owner-managed, private enterprise clients

Completion of Part I and II, CICA In-Depth Tax Course or MTax
-
Exceptional technical skills and analytical skills, with a fine attention to detail
-
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to organize, prepare, and clearly present information to our clients and team

The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
-
Experience in SR&ED claim preparation and US tax compliance would be an asset
-
Working knowledge and experience with a variety of accounting, office and tax research and compliance software applications, including Caseware, CCH Tax Research, Greenpoint, Profile and MS Office programs

Your responsibilities will include:

Identify corporate tax and estate planning opportunities and prepare implementation memorandums for clients and their lawyers
-
Research tax issues and legislation and present findings in a timely and professional manner

Prepare Notice of Objections, Voluntary Disclosures and other tax submissions to the CRA
-
Liaise with clients and auditors during government tax audits

Prepare and review corporate, trust and high net worth tax returns

Review and analyze tax assessments

Prepare correspondence for internal use and for client engagements

Assist in developing internal and external seminars and tax marketing presentations and articles
